frequently asked questions
How can I purchase your work?
When I have work available for purchase, it will be listed in the "shop" tab of my site. I try to have a shop update every 1-2 months. I announce shop updates on social media and via my email newsletter. Following me on Instagram is the best way to stay up to date with sales.
If my shop is closed or sold out, it means I currently don't have any pieces for sale and am busy making more!
When is your next shop update?
I have not announced a date yet. I am aiming for the end of April.
Subscribe to my mailing list or follow me on Instagram for updates!
Can I order a custom piece?
Ceramic & jewelry commissions are currently closed. When I reopen custom orders, I will post an announcement to my Instagram and send out a newsletter in advance.
How is it made?
All of my ceramic pieces are hand formed and hand painted by me, with love! This means each piece takes many hours to create, and no two pieces will ever be the exact same.
I use a variety of clay bodies and glazes~ please carefully read individual item descriptions before purchasing for more details regarding materials, food safety, and care instructions.
I make my jewelry using either 14k gold filled or sterling silver wire & chain, along with a combination of new, vintage, and repurposed beads and charms.
When can I expect my order to arrive?
I try to ship out all orders within 1-3 business days. All orders will have tracked shipping via USPS. Please email me at mattiejaneart@gmail.com with any questions~ please include your name and order number
Do you ship outside of the US?
Currently, I only ship within the US. I hope to be able to set up international shipping and offer that as an option soon.
What do you use to paint ceramics? How do you paint such small detail?
I paint my ceramic work with underglaze. To achieve intricate details and thin lines, I use tiny paintbrushes and sometimes use a magnifying glass. It takes a lot of practice and a steady hand.
Can I get one of your illustrations tattooed?
I do not give permission for any of my drawings, paintings, or illustrations to be tattooed without my consent. Please reach out via email with a photo of the work you're interested in getting tattooed. If I approve, you can purchase a "tattoo ticket" from me. I will email you a high quality image of my design that you can then take to another artist, showing that you recieved permission to get the piece tattooed.
Where are you located?
I am currently living and working in Los Angeles for the spring of 2025. I will be spending the summer creating at home in Montana.
